Far North District Council’s Intuitive Adoption of Objective IQ
Reducing steps, lost documents and change fatigue with the user-friendly rollout of Objective IQ
During an enlightening discussion at Objective’s annual customer conference, Collaborate 2021, facilitated by Rebecca Finbow, Customer Success Manager at Objective, Sarah Benikowsky, Information Management Team Leader at Far North District Council, shared how easy it was for her team to adopt Objective IQ.
Far North District Council is the northernmost council in New Zealand with about 60,000 community members being served. It's a widely dispersed council with employees living and working in offices throughout the district. The challenges of the pandemic introduced a requirement for the council to have multiple ways of communicating and completing work that aren’t in person.
Whenever employees had to work remotely, the council quickly saw how the implementation of Objective IQ paid off. Instead of struggling with the overwhelm and change fatigue of learning a new system, employees experienced minimal impacts and even removed the extra step and wait time of logging in to a remote desktop. There was very little training required.
“Objective IQ is very intuitive. I wasn’t able to go give people one-on-one training because we weren’t allowed to go see each other, so the fact that it was so intuitive, and you can’t break it. You just click around, and you figure it out. That really helped people get the hang of it," Sarah commented.

Employees could simply access Objective documents from anywhere – even on a mobile or tablet. Most importantly, feedback from employees included that not only was Objective IQ user friendly but it was also very difficult to misplace or lose documents. Objective IQ transformed the way the council works and was able to maintain continuity during the pandemic.
